I have a Manual 35mm pentax camera SLR.
My flash is automatic with a manual option image cz-55.

I don't understand the fill in flash system.

The camera flash sync. setting is 1/50th second which would be an
overexposed picture. The light meter reading I get outside on a sunny
day for 100 speed film is 1/250th sec. and f16 which is the lens
minumun opening. Any help would be appreciated.

Which is why focal plane shutters are lousy for flash work.

BTW, either your scene is very light or your meter is off by about a
stop.

The correct exposure for sunlit scenes with 100 speed
film would be 1/125 @ f/16.

The basic options would seem to be:

1. An f/stop smaller than f/16, allowing you to use a slower
shutter speed.
2. Slower film.
3. Use a Neutral Density filter.
