Just a note! I sincerely want to thank Alan Jacobs for his info on converting an SB28 (or many other flashes)to AC power (posted on rec.photo a week or so back). He has an ingenious design for making power packs for digital cameras and for flashes that can be made by just about anyone with minimal skills. If you read this Alan THANKS AGAIN! If anyone needs this info I'll be happy to pass it along![

Could you post the email or web address for the instructions to build an AC power pack for flashes please.
I used to cheat a little with smaller portable units by putting a block in the battery compartment with metal contacts to the +ve and -ve terminals in the flash and then soldering a stretchie cord to this. The other end of the cord had a plug to fit in a large lantern battery wich I used when I was shooting a large number of flashes. Got in the order of 1500 to 200 flashes per battery rather than the 30 or so with penlight batteries.
