I guess since I have spent a bundle on my camera, tripod, film and all the other small items that help to produce a professional, sharp photo I would want to request the use of the best photographic print paper as well. Do any of you have a preference when you have your prints done profesionally? I was at a festival this last weekend and a person used a paper called Ilfochrome and it looked very nice.

Ilfochrome is not only a paper but a process for printing slides to prints. It has somewhat replaced the older Cibachrome process because the chemicals can be used at room temperatures. It (the paper)is for a positive-to-positive process only and you cannot print negatives on it (unless you want an enlaged negative image). There are a few different color negative papers but the most popular are the Kodak papers. The main difference aside from surfaces (like glossy and matte) is in the reproduction of colors in the midtones.
BTW, any film or paper with the word "chrome" attached to it is for a positive process (slide).
