hmm.. I'm interested in this software now, but don't know if it'll run on my
server. It says under system requirements "Sun Solaris", my server is
running Red Hat. I guess if someone really wants to view a high-res
picture, they'll download the viewer and/or enable Javascript. It downloads
fast on my cable modem via an Active X control, I don't know how long it
would take to download on a slower modem.

Another option is provided by a company called "Image Escort" at www.ImageEscort.com. It works in conjunction with Macromedia's Shockwave plugin (which a lot of people tend to already have) and doesn't require any special server software.
